Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 4 years of directly related experience.
- Experience with U.S., Canadian, and other international product safety standards (ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC, etc.).
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Up to 75% travel required.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
- Must be detailed-oriented with effective communication and presentation skills.
- Must reside in the Northeast U.S.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable safety standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Set up and operate equipment under test and perform construction reviews.
- Perform testing including rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, and mechanical hazards.
- Provide local technical expertise and maintain reviewer status for product categories.
- Investigate technical complaints and support accreditation efforts through technical audits.
- Provide quotations and technical sales support for complex projects.
- Participate on standards/industry committees and associations.
