Job Details

Languages: Native fluency in Chinese (Simplified), professional command of English.
Experience: 5+ years

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX localization, software translation, or technical IT content.
2+ years of experience acting in a Language Lead, Reviewer, or LQA Specialist capacity.
Native fluency in Chinese (Simplified) and professional command of source English.
Deep sensitivity to local tech terminology vs. regional variants.
Must be currently living and working outside of China.
Deep proficiency in advanced translation management systems and CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, Phrase, memoQ).
Experience with automated Quality Assurance tools (e.g., Xbench).
Exceptional communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

Define and maintain quality standards for English to Simplified Chinese UI/UX and software localization.
Author and manage localized style guides, IT glossaries, and Translation Memories.
Lead, mentor, and coordinate a remote team of freelance translators, editors, and LQA testers.
Provide actionable linguistic feedback, onboarding, and query resolution.
Partner with project managers and engineering teams to optimize localization workflows and troubleshoot technical/linguistic issues.
Monitor and report on resource performance and linguistic quality metrics.
