Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong knowledge of Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
- Experience with background job frameworks such as Sidekiq or Resque.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend application architecture.
- Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience writing automated tests using RSpec, Minitest, Capybara, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of application performance optimization, debugging, and production support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in remote teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby on Rails applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Build scalable business logic using Rails conventions, ActiveRecord, controllers, and service-oriented patterns.
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Collaborate with frontend developers on technologies like React, Vue, or Stimulus.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle from planning and architecture to deployment.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL or MySQL databases, queries, and indexes.
- Manage background processing workflows using Sidekiq, Resque, or equivalent frameworks.
- Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure application reliability.
- Support CI/CD workflows, production troubleshooting, and security best practices.
