Requirements
- Significant experience as a contracts-focused paralegal (transactional, not litigation)
- Demonstrated ability to draft and redline commercial contracts independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
- Sound judgment in distinguishing substantive legal issues from routine matters
- Prior in-house experience, ideally at a startup
- Experience building or maintaining contract templates/playbooks
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Excel, Slack, and similar tools
Responsibilities
- Conduct first-pass redlines on incoming contracts and agreements
- Manage contract administration, including tracking, filing, and organizing executed agreements
- Support general legal document administration and recordkeeping
- Maintain and update contract templates and playbooks as needed
- Track key contract dates, obligations, and renewals
- Flag substantive legal issues or risks to the General Counsel in a timely manner
- Manage day-to-day legal department workflows with minimal oversight
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (business, finance, sales) to keep contracts moving efficiently
- Assist with ad hoc legal projects as they arise
