Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in the cloud-native geospatial sector.
- Deep expertise with DuckDB, GeoParquet, STAC, Arrow, Iceberg, MobilityDB, or similar spatial data formats.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including deep understanding of execution plans, partitioning, clustering, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience shipping LLM-powered features and working with agentic patterns in production.
- Demonstrated history of contributing to the geospatial community, such as maintained OSS projects, standards working groups, or technical speaking.
- Experience developing in a cloud-native, serverless environment, specifically GCP or AWS.
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to define strategy and guide technical direction.
- Ability to provide actionable, high-quality feedback in code reviews.
- Strong preference for candidates with TypeScript or Node.js experience.
Responsibilities
- Define the evolution of the Analytics Toolbox framework for packaging and versioning spatial analytics.
- Develop and maintain a cross-engine SQL strategy for BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Postgres, and Oracle.
- Drive the company strategy for spatial-first Iceberg, GeoParquet, and other open geospatial formats.
- Represent the organization in OGC working groups, the Cloud Native Geospatial community, and at FOSS4G conferences.
- Architect interfaces to enable AI agents to execute spatial analytics through the Toolbox framework.
- Write technical strategy documentation and implement production-ready code in cloud-native, serverless environments.
