Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience, with the majority in desktop SaaS.
- Demonstrated ability to break down huge, ambiguous projects into actionable parts.
- Deep understanding of design patterns for high-functioning teams and high-performance environments.
- Ability to influence engineering and product teams to improve design quality across the organization.
- Strong first-principles thinking, independent of standard UX processes.
- Extensive experience solving usability problems without relying solely on data, metrics, or research.
- Resourcefulness in creating and de-risking creative solutions.
- Best-in-class skills in layout, navigation, Information Architecture (IA), UI, and interaction design.
- Experience working in an early-stage startup or as a solo designer.
- Obsession with design craft and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Consult for engineers on layout, typography, and flow structures.
- Investigate problems by consulting with GTM teams, talking to customers, and analyzing data to present confident proposals.
- Create visual artifacts and design ideas using Figma for stakeholder alignment.
- Write specification documents detailing design proposals for major decisions.
- Take ownership of large product features by defining Jobs-To-Be-Done, navigation, IA, layout, and interactions.
- Use customer feedback and heuristics to build a usability backlog and propose projects.
- Consolidate and refine the design system to ensure it is functional and aesthetic.
