Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 4+ years of focused experience in application security, vulnerability research, and penetration testing.
- Proven ability to identify vulnerabilities using custom-built tooling.
- Hands-on experience using AI agents and frameworks to continuously find vulnerabilities.
- Proficiency in writing code across the entire software stack.
- Comfortable working with a variety of different programming languages.
- Demonstrated ability to balance security needs against functional engineering and clinical requirements.
- Experience mentoring engineers to adopt better security practices.
- Experience working on software that processes sensitive patient care data.
Responsibilities
- Actively hunt for and close security vulnerabilities across our core product, Counterpart Assistant.
- Harden the systems, services, and endpoints around the platform.
- Establish strong security monitoring of our services and stack.
- Safeguard PHI and monitor deidentification practices to prevent data leaks.
- Utilize AI agents and frameworks to scale vulnerability discovery with defined guardrails.
- Review critical pull requests, conduct security training, and mentor engineers on secure coding.
- Partner with site reliability engineering, engineering leadership, and corporate security teams to establish defensive strategies.
- Strengthen system resilience and disaster recovery capabilities.
