Job Details

Significant experience in software engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, or implementation engineering.
Proven experience as a technical lead or senior individual contributor on complex, customer-facing software deployments.
Ability to operate across the full problem space, from workflow analysis to production deployment.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations.
Strong technical judgment regarding implementation fixes versus architectural changes.
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead other engineers without formal management authority.
Experience as a coach capable of explaining complex technical problem-solving frameworks.
Deep interest in AI agents, prompting, automation, and multi-agent systems.
Bias toward action and the ability to maintain high agency in early-stage environments.
Strong focus on production reliability, testing, observability, and debugging practices.

Take the lead on Magical’s most complex, high-risk, or technically ambiguous customer deployments.
Design agentic workflows, write and improve prompts, build integrations, debug failures, and ship production solutions.
Diagnose difficult issues across customer environments, integrations, agent performance, and data quality.
Review solution designs, implementation plans, and production-readiness for complex workflows.
Coach FDEs through technical problems and improve the team’s systems-thinking skills.
Identify risks and architectural weaknesses before they become customer-facing problems.
Translate customer challenges into reusable platform capabilities, internal tools, and technical standards.
