Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Engineering.
  • 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement, and construction management within the power generation, utility, and transmission industries.
  • Experience with the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems.
  • Experience leading projects in a cross-functional team from initial feasibility evaluations to late-stage development and construction.
  • Understanding of key project development elements including real property, permitting, regulatory matters, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong understanding of the battery energy storage value proposition and/or engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent, including Revu Bluebeam.
  • Ability to travel intermittently, up to approximately 30% over the course of a year.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the technical deliverables associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of Plus Power’s BESS projects in collaboration with third-party engineering and EPC firms.
  • Support the EPC Leadership Team on a broad range of supplier and contractor management matters across multiple equipment vendors and construction firms.
  • Partner with the Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams in the definition, review, negotiation, and execution of interconnection agreements.
  • Assist with the preparation and issuance of RFQ/RFP packages to EPC contractors and Engineering consultants.
  • Support the EPC Procurement team in developing and issuing project scopes of work, RFPs, schedules, budgets, cash flow projections, and technical contract requirements.
  • Attend meetings with various project stakeholders including developers, contractors, consultants, and utility companies.
  • Travel to project sites before, during, and after construction to support a wide range of project-related tasks and activities.
  • Provide input on permitting and regulatory applications and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
