Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Engineering.
- 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement/contracting, and construction management.
- Experience within the power generation, utility, and transmission industries.
- Experience with the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems.
- Experience leading projects in a cross functional team from initial feasibility to construction.
- Understanding of project development elements including permitting, regulatory matters, and interconnection.
- Knowledge of market dynamics related to major equipment, engineering services, and construction.
- Understanding of battery energy storage value proposition and engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, Excel).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent, including Revu Bluebeam.
- Ability to travel intermittently, up to approximately 30%.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the technical deliverables associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of BESS projects in collaboration with third-party firms.
- Support the EPC Leadership Team on a broad range of supplier and contractor management matters.
- Partner with Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams on interconnection agreements and grid integration.
- Assist with the preparation and issuance of RFQ/RFP packages to contractors and consultants.
- Support the EPC Procurement team in developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical contract requirements.
- Attend meetings with project stakeholders including developers, contractors, and utility companies.
- Travel to project sites to support construction tasks and project activities.
- Provide input on permitting and regulatory applications.
