Requirements

  • Some college coursework or two years of equivalent work experience
  • Associate degree in accounting or finance (strongly preferred)
  • Experience administering institutional scholarships, foundation scholarships, state funding, or other student funding programs (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfort learning new technology and navigating databases
  • Solid math skills - ratios, percentages, and everyday calculations
  • Growth mindset, strong sense of ownership, and a collaborative spirit

Responsibilities

  • Advise Learners on eligibility and application procedures for federal, state, and institutional funding programs
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to new hires and fellow Specialist I's
  • Act as the Teams communications SME and second-level point of escalation
  • Support Specialist III's with training and special projects
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to close funding gaps for Learners
  • Provide financial resource guidance, including scholarships and private lending options
  • Communicate ongoing updates on gap balance funding and disbursement status
  • Review learner documents and applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct regular audits of your portfolio to ensure funding aligns with general ledger postings
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects as they arise
