Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience in startup operations, project management, business operations, or program operations.
- Proven experience building or significantly improving operational processes.
- Strong track record of managing concurrent, cross-functional projects with competing priorities.
- Experienced in remote or highly distributed organizations with strong habits in asynchronous communication.
- Proficiency in operational platforms such as Notion, Asana, Coda, Smartsheet, or Monday.com.
- Strong judgment on balancing structure versus agility and identifying when to implement automation.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder alignment and risk management.
- Analytical ability to define and track metrics from a blank slate.
- Intellectual curiosity regarding science, technology, and ambitious research organizations.
Responsibilities
- Build Convergent’s programmatic operating infrastructure by designing workflows, documentation, and operating rhythms.
- Manage end-to-end applicant and selection systems, ensuring consistent storage, review workflows, and feedback capture.
- Define practical metrics and build dashboards to provide visibility into applicant pipelines, program delivery, and capacity.
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects by establishing clear plans, dependencies, and accountability structures.
- Improve operational efficiency by mapping processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing automation where appropriate.
- Build institutional knowledge through standardized playbooks, templates, and decision records.
