Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Industrial Design or Product Design.
- 2+ years designing mass-produced consumer, HME, or DME (patient care) products.
- Proven experience taking products from concept to mass production.
- Experience in mechanical design, prototyping, simulation, and testing.
- Experience working within manufacturing and supplier constraints.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with Asian/Chinese manufacturers.
- Experience designing products for marketplaces influenced by public customer reviews.
- Experience with mechanical CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Onshape.
- Experience with cost modeling and margin-focused design decisions.
- Strong understanding of ergonomics, usability, and user-centered design principles.
- Analytical skills to structure insights into actionable design improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process from concept development to production-ready solutions using DFM and DFA analysis.
- Translate product briefs, caregiver feedback, and VOC data into user-centered concepts.
- Select materials balancing aesthetic, structural durability, and cost-efficiency.
- Create advanced CAD models, engineering documentation, and structural simulations for validation.
- Design and validate mockups, prototypes, and functional test samples.
- Collaborate with engineers, sourcing partners, and marketing teams.
- Communicate with international manufacturing partners including Asian/China suppliers.
