Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program.
- Current or eligible unrestricted pharmacist licensure in the state of Oregon.
- Advanced pharmacy training such as a PharmD, residency, fellowship, board certification, or master’s degree.
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience as a clinical pharmacist in an ambulatory care or pharmaceutical care management setting.
- Comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical knowledge base.
- Knowledge of managed care, pharmacy benefit management, and pharmaceutical utilization principles.
- Ability to critically evaluate clinical and medical literature.
- Proficiency in pharmacy claims analysis and report design.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct quality improvement programs related to the pharmacy program.
- Implement clinical educational programs to improve drug utilization and prescribing patterns.
- Analyze pharmacy claim data and reports to support program objectives.
- Review medication prior authorization requests and appeals.
- Develop formulary recommendations and drug use criteria for the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
- Consult with clinicians and pharmacists to resolve pharmacy benefit issues.
- Provide medication therapy management (MTM) services and assist in developing treatment plans.
- Precept pharmacy students and residents.
