Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Experience owning a full monthly close as a Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in the US market.
- Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting in a physical business environment.
- Expertise in multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
- Experience managing accounting staff and outsourced accounting providers.
- Demonstrated ability to build processes rather than simply maintaining them.
- Strong systems skills, specifically with accounting system implementation or migration.
- Fluent Russian language skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy of P&L, cash flow statements, and balance sheets, and manage the monthly close process.
- Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation policies, and reconciliation of operational records.
- Maintain the internal financial model and lead the development of annual and quarterly budgets with department heads.
- Establish and manage financial controls, including approval procedures, spend controls, and segregation of duties.
- Direct and manage in-house accounting staff and outsourced accounting partners to ensure high-quality, timely reporting.
- Oversee multi-state tax compliance, payroll, statutory reporting, and audit readiness.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and product teams to evaluate the financial implications of pricing, vendor contracts, and new city launches.
