Requirements
- United States citizenship.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Oral and written proficiency in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
- Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation (NACI, Low Risk).
- A quiet, private home workspace within 50 miles of a VISN 19 VA Medical Center.
- Reliable high speed internet.
Responsibilities
- Schedule Veteran appointments for primary care, specialty clinics, and community care in accordance with VHA Directive 1230.
- Verify and update patient demographics, next of kin, emergency contact, and insurance information.
- Document interactions in CPRS and VistA accurately, averaging at least 20 cases per day.
- Coordinate with the Lead Scheduler and care teams to escalate referrals and system issues.
- Provide professional, empathetic customer service to Veterans, family members, and VA staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and complete annual cybersecurity, Privacy Act, and HIPAA training.
