Requirements
- Strong experience in a regulated environment, particularly in governance, compliance, risk, or legal.
- Hands-on experience with SMCR in a UK dual-regulated (FCA/PRA) firm.
- Familiarity with IAF/SEAR or other accountability regimes.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory or policy requirements into clear, practical processes and guidance.
- Experience planning and leading projects from end to end.
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills for writing governance papers and presenting to senior forums.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience building and improving effective, reliable processes.
- Proficiency in using data to make pragmatic, risk-based recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of accountability regimes (SMCR and IAF/SEAR).
- Run business-as-usual activities including fit and proper assessments, certification, and regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate cross-team workflows to ensure priorities and delivery remain on track.
- Act as a subject matter expert on accountability and people governance to support risk-based decision-making.
- Build and evolve people governance frameworks, including risk, controls, and organizational change.
- Identify and implement process and tooling improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with People, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and the Board to land decisions.
- Support audit, assurance, and regulatory engagement with high-quality documentation.
