Requirements
- 2+ years of medical billing and revenue cycle experience.
- Dedicated behavioral health billing experience.
- Hands-on Medicare Part B billing experience with the ability to work independently.
- Current HIPAA certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of billing lifecycle, claims management, and AR processes.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health CPT coding and ICD-10 coding.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Own the full revenue cycle for the practice, front and back office including charge entry, check-in, claim creation, submission, payment posting, and AR workflows.
- Investigate and resolve claim rejections, denials, and underpayments through corrected claims and appeals.
- Review and manage accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Manage patient balances, collections, and payment arrangements while maintaining accurate financial documentation.
- Serve as the primary contact for the billing phone line, answering patient questions about copayments, deductibles, and benefits.
- Monitor and report on key metrics like Days in AR and Clean Claim Rate for the CEO's weekly meetings.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and federal/state regulations.
