Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in high-performance production environments.
- Deep technical expertise in MSSQL (including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience managing databases in GCP and AWS environments.
- Demonstrated ability to improve query performance and reduce cloud infrastructure costs.
- Extensive experience with failover clusters, replication, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Expertise in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, and MQL.
- Proficiency in building idempotent, version-controlled automation for deployments and self-healing systems.
- Willingness to participate in on-call response.
- Experience with observability platforms (e.g., New Relic) is preferred.
- Experience managing databases in audited environments (SOC2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain CloudSQL/PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB environments.
- Take ownership of data pipelines and processing layers to ensure reliability and performance.
- Optimize query performance and instance right-sizing to drive cloud cost-savings.
- Implement security controls including encryption, row-level security, and PII masking for compliance.
- Design and execute High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
- Integrate database observability and monitoring into the infrastructure-as-code ecosystem.
- Lead complex data migrations and schema changes with minimal downtime.
- Partner with Application Architects on scalable data models and mentor developers on schema design.
- Manage workflow via Jira and participate in continuous planning to drive business goals.
