Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field (e.g., English, Creative Writing, Journalism) from a US school.
- 1+ years of teaching experience in English or working in a college-level Writing Center.
- Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).
- Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction.
- Commitment to working the specified hours of operation (Tuesdays-Sundays).
- Experience teaching at the college or community college level (preferred).
- Understanding of classroom pedagogy and ability to create customized lesson plans.
Responsibilities
- Instruct small groups of students in English core skills to promote long-term understanding and top scores in ACT and SAT exams.
- Track student progress through the company's multi-phase curriculum and engage students in individualized growth opportunities.
- Maintain and update student lesson schedules and hold students accountable for assignments.
- Model professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely student communication.
- Spearhead the development and creative execution of evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
- Guide middle and high school students with empathy through the competitive college application process.
