Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from a US school (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).
- 1+ years of teaching experience in English or experience working in a college-level Writing Center.
- Demonstrated academic excellence with a 3.5+ GPA.
- Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise.
- Commitment to assigned hours of operation (Tuesdays-Thursdays and weekends).
- Master’s degree or higher in a humanities field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Instruct small groups of students in English core skills to promote understanding and college readiness exam success (ACT & SAT).
- Track student progress through a multi-phase curriculum and engage students in individualized growth opportunities.
- Maintain and update student lesson schedules and hold students accountable for assignments.
- Model professionalism and organizational skills through timely communication.
- Spearhead the development and creative execution of evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
- Mentor middle and high school students through the college application process.
