Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
- 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical/legal issues, patient rights, and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to assess data appropriate to patient age-specific needs
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Effective communication skills with a professional bedside manner
- Superior time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- At least 1 year of telehealth experience preferred
- Managerial or lead CMA experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Receive, triage, and respond to inbound requests from patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance plans.
- Assist with virtual care activities under clinician direction, including documenting medical history and medication refills.
- Coordinate referrals, pharmacy inquiries, and authorization of services or equipment.
- Manage patient portal administration and route incoming correspondence.
- Support patients and staff with video visit technology and clinician connections.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to privacy policies.
