Requirements
- 2-5 years of dedicated professional experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Fire Protection Engineering.
- Undergraduate or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of UL 9540, UL 9540A, and UL 1973 protocols.
- Practical application experience with NFPA Standards 855, 68, 69, 70, 72, 110, and 111.
- Experience drafting core fire compliance documentation and engineering briefs.
- Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) fire or plume modeling simulations.
- Adept at data analysis and translating engineering restrictions into operational workflows.
- Ability to master emerging modeling tools and technical software platforms.
- Proven experience with data-backed storytelling using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong public presentation and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary stakeholders to interpret local and international fire code regulations for product requirements.
- Design and maintain code compliance matrixes to track regulatory criteria across deployment areas.
- Identify compliance gaps and develop technical workarounds or engineering solutions for AHJs.
- Validate safety parameters through modeling, configuration, and full-scale fire propagation testing.
- Synthesize complex test data into dashboards and executive reports.
- Develop and conduct specialized training for first responders and internal teams on emergency protocols during thermal events.
- Participate in technical issue resolution pipelines to finalize engineering adjustments.
