Requirements
- Healthcare background (Medical Assistant, Medical Admin, Nurse Assistant, Medical VA, or similar)
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, Cerner, eClinicalWorks)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Advanced written and spoken English proficiency
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace
- Experience supporting U.S. healthcare providers (preferred)
- Experience in mental health, primary care, or specialty clinics (preferred)
- Insurance verification or billing experience (preferred)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
- Communicate with patients via phone, email, and patient portals
- Update and maintain Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist with authorizations
- Support billing, claims follow-up, and documentation
- Prepare intake forms, medical reports, and correspondence
- Coordinate between providers, staff, and patients
- Follow HIPAA and U.S. healthcare compliance standards
