Requirements
- 15+ years of professional software development experience, with significant senior leadership or product delivery experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing technical teams, including senior engineers or senior individual contributors.
- Track record of leading teams that shipped polished, top-tier products.
- Ability to translate ambiguous product direction into clear plans and ownership models.
- Technical fluency with AI-enabled products (e.g., LLM applications, RAG workflows, agents, automation).
- Experience delivering complex applications across desktop, web, and mobile (e.g., Tauri, Electron, React Native).
- Experience with enterprise software, regulated environments, or complex technical products (privacy, security, compliance).
- Practical experience with local-first, self-hosted, or customer-controlled product architectures.
- Experience improving engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, technical debt management).
- Excellent communication skills around technical prioritization and quality tradeoffs.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering execution by clarifying priorities, ownership, timelines, risks, dependencies, and quality expectations.
- Manage engineers and contractors, including coaching, feedback, prioritization, performance support, and team development.
- Contribute code, review technical work, and evaluate architectural tradeoffs while staying close to the codebase.
- Partner with leadership to turn AI strategy and product direction into coordinated engineering plans.
- Establish planning, review, release, and follow-through practices to improve predictability and reduce bottlenecks.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, security, reliability, and documentation.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and resource planning as the team scales.
