Requirements
- Strong core Java skills with a deep understanding of concurrency primitives.
- Proven ability to design and optimize efficient data structures and algorithms.
- Experience implementing techniques to efficiently index, store, and query time-series or logs data.
- Experience with data storage technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Prometheus.
- Experience building high-performance, scalable database, search, or distributed systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and drive decisions via asynchronous communication in a distributed team.
- Proven track record of using AI tools to accelerate development and debug complex systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on respectful, professional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural evolution of core storage engine components, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in indexing layouts and serialization.
- Drive cross-organizational initiatives to build industry-leading observability solutions.
- Collaborate with a globally distributed team to improve Elasticsearch logs and metrics capabilities.
- Introduce best practices for clean coding standards and untangle complexity to provide architectural clarity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, acting as a technical advisor and mentor to the wider engineering organization.
- Triage, resolve, and review issues and pull requests while collaborating with domain experts.
