Requirements
- At least 5 years of successful experience as an Engineering Manager over product/application engineering.
- Experience in two or more early-to-growth-stage remote startup environments.
- Strong technical acumen in web frameworks, relational databases, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead and drive long-term technical projects.
- Experience adopting modern development practices and AI-assisted tooling.
- Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills for cross-departmental work.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical contributions with high-level leadership.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for a remote environment.
- Ability to identify and manage priorities independently across multiple teams.
- Residency within the United States of America.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Messaging and Applications teams, providing constructive feedback and performance reviews.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for a reliable, compliant, and scalable core product.
- Champion modern, AI-assisted engineering practices and set responsible-use guardrails.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to define solutions through Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and retaining top-tier engineering talent.
- Maintain hands-on capability to help debug, review technical work, and unblock the team when necessary.
- Participate in the On-Call rotation.
