Requirements
- Degree in Tax Law, Business Law, Finance or equivalent.
- 5 - 8 years of experience in a Big Four firm or specialised tax advisory practice.
- Clear focus on fund or partnership taxation.
- Deep expertise in German Personengesellschaftsbesteuerung, in particular GmbH & Co. KG structures.
- Strong experience with transparent partnership structures including carried interest, waterfall mechanics, and LP reporting.
- Solid grounding in international tax law (DBAs, withholding taxes, ATAD, CFC principles, cross-border flows).
- Experience working with international investors and preparing investor-facing tax communications.
- Ability to explain complex tax matters in plain business language to non-tax colleagues.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken at professional level.
- Strong accounting awareness and ability to translate tax conclusions into booking instructions.
- Pragmatic, structured approach with strong project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end tax compliance process for German and Austrian fund structures, including GmbH & Co. KG funds.
- Coordinate external tax advisors in Germany, Austria, the UK, and the US.
- Manage tax compliance calendars and monitor deadlines for filings like SA800, CT600, and Form 1065.
- Prepare and review investor tax letters and reports for domestic and international LPs.
- Advise finance and accounting teams on tax implications of complex transactions and provide booking instructions.
- Coordinate international tax structuring projects and handle ad-hoc tax queries from stakeholders.
