Requirements

  • Graduate from a Top 50 national university.
  • Experience as a college counselor for high school students with a track record of acceptances into Top 50 national universities.
  • Consistent availability in the afternoons (after 3:00 p.m.) and/or weekends.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong essay writing and editing abilities.
  • Ability to plan around and meet strict application deadlines.
  • Dedication to client service and ability to commit to multi-year student packages.
  • Former admissions officer experience at Top 50 colleges preferred.
  • Experience as an independent college counselor (NACAC, WACAC, IECA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop personalized academic and extracurricular plans for students.
  • Provide strategic guidance for college applications, including essays, resumes, and recommendation letters.
  • Advise on summer plans such as internships, competitions, research, and community service.
  • Develop standardized testing plans and college lists (reach, target, safety).
  • Strategize for early action, early decision, regular decision, and waitlist situations.
  • Provide guidance on financial aid and merit scholarship resources.
  • Maintain timely communication and session documentation with students and parents.
