Requirements
- Graduate from a Top 50 national university.
- Experience as a college counselor for high school students with a track record of acceptances into Top 50 national universities.
- Consistent availability in the afternoons (after 3:00 p.m.) and/or weekends.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong essay writing and editing abilities.
- Ability to plan around and meet strict application deadlines.
- Dedication to client service and ability to commit to multi-year student packages.
- Former admissions officer experience at Top 50 colleges preferred.
- Experience as an independent college counselor (NACAC, WACAC, IECA) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop personalized academic and extracurricular plans for students.
- Provide strategic guidance for college applications, including essays, resumes, and recommendation letters.
- Advise on summer plans such as internships, competitions, research, and community service.
- Develop standardized testing plans and college lists (reach, target, safety).
- Strategize for early action, early decision, regular decision, and waitlist situations.
- Provide guidance on financial aid and merit scholarship resources.
- Maintain timely communication and session documentation with students and parents.
