Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience building and operating production AI or LLM-powered systems.
- Expertise in retrieval engineering (hybrid search, re-ranking, query transformation, context management, and evaluation).
- Experience building and operating agentic AI systems involving tool usage, orchestration, and model routing.
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
- Experience deploying AI workloads on AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
- Familiarity with AI observability, performance monitoring, and quality regression.
- Experience designing scalable cloud-native systems and production infrastructure.
- Understanding of privacy, security, and HIPAA-regulated data environment requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and operation of the AI infrastructure layer to support intelligent applications.
- Evolve the AI knowledge platform by improving retrieval, indexing, and synthesis capabilities.
- Architect and operate agentic infrastructure in cloud environments for multi-step AI systems.
- Design advanced retrieval architectures, such as graph-based and relationship-aware approaches.
- Build and maintain platform APIs for product engineering teams.
- Develop reference implementations for AI agents for operational and customer-facing workflows.
- Establish AI infrastructure cost management, governance, and observability frameworks.
- Partner with leadership to define AI platform strategy and technical standards.
- Ensure AI systems meet security, privacy, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
