Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with backend development in PHP or Python, databases, and frontend development in JavaScript.
- Proven track record of delivering features end-to-end from concept through prototyping to production.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to innovation and new technologies.
- Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team with independent priority management.
- Product-oriented mindset capable of translating user needs into practical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to balance rapid delivery with sustainable engineering quality.
- Understanding of security vulnerabilities and secure implementation practices.
- Experience writing automated tests, reviewing code, and producing technical documentation.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Experience working in a fully remote, agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and deliver new features across backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) to extend Matomo’s core platform capabilities.
- Work across additional technologies including Python and Node.js to build new product features.
- Explore and validate new product ideas such as AI-powered insights and advanced analytics features.
- Manage the full development lifecycle from concept and prototyping through deployment and integration.
- Balance rapid delivery with sustainable engineering quality, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with co-founders and senior engineers using tools like Slack, Jira, and Confluence.
