Requirements
- 5+ years of production Perl experience, including mod_perl and CPAN module management.
- 3+ years of Apache Solr experience, including query tuning and cluster management.
- Strong understanding of Linux-based environments (Debian/Ubuntu, Nginx, Apache).
- Proficiency with relational databases (MariaDB or MySQL) and replication.
- Experience with full-stack development, including modern and legacy JavaScript (jQuery).
- Proven experience with Agile Scrum methodology, sprint planning, and story pointing.
- Knowledge of SDLC practices, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of security vulnerabilities (XSS, SQLi, CSRF) and dependency management.
- Capability to produce clear technical documentation for diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work hands-on with mature, long-lived codebases.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical platform and ancillary projects alongside the Director of Engineering.
- Manage releases and deployments, proposing improvements to automate processes.
- Assess infrastructure patterns including Linux, Nginx, Apache, MariaDB, and Solr.
- Adopt and uphold SDLC practices, including Agile Scrum, CI/CD, and code reviews.
- Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Coordinate security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 readiness.
- Progressively modernize the stack toward containerization and RESTful APIs.
