Requirements
- 5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong software development fundamentals.
- Experience building products, platforms, or significant features from scratch in an early-stage or high-growth environment.
- Strong proficiency with modern web technologies and programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, Node.js, PostgreSQL, GCP preferred).
- Ability to make thoughtful architectural and technical decisions while navigating ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- Experience designing, launching, and maintaining production systems used by real customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical decisions and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience using AI tools to enhance engineering workflows, productivity, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new technologies and approaches.
- Strong ownership mentality, persistence, and ability to independently drive projects forward.
- Passion for improving healthcare experiences and empathy for the challenges faced by patients.
- Healthcare technology experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build core insurance and data infrastructure supporting eligibility, verification, claims, and partner operations.
- Work directly with employer, health plan, and channel partners during implementation projects to ensure smooth, reliable, and timely launches.
- Own technical solutions from discovery through delivery, balancing customer needs, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Make foundational engineering decisions within a small, collaborative team building products from the ground up.
- Develop and maintain robust software systems that support real users and critical healthcare workflows.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools and automation techniques to improve productivity and expand individual impact.
- Write clear technical documentation and knowledge resources that enable effective collaboration across a distributed engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teammates to identify challenges, prioritize solutions, and continuously improve systems.
- Apply strong customer empathy throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring technology decisions align with user and partner needs.
