Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of enterprise software development experience.
- Expert-level experience developing applications using Java/J2EE technologies in web-based environments.
- Strong experience with Java frameworks, including Spring Framework and related enterprise development tools.
- Experience with JSP, Servlets, or Java Server Faces (JSF).
- Experience designing and developing RESTful web services.
- Proficiency with Perl development and scripting.
- Experience working with Linux environments, particularly Red Hat-based systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database development, data modeling, and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate and JPA.
- Experience automating CI/CD pipelines and working with modern software delivery practices.
- Experience using Git or other distributed source control systems.
- Demonstrated experience developing software in agile environments.
- Understanding of federal IT security practices, secure development principles, and accessibility standards such as Section 508.
Responsibilities
- Participate in agile development teams to support the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Design, develop, and enhance Java-based enterprise applications while ensuring high performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain Perl applications, scripts, and related software components as required.
- Review functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
- Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure solutions align with technical standards, security requirements, and architectural best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design documents and development artifacts.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including test-driven development, code reviews, static analysis, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated security testing.
- Develop and integrate RESTful web services and enterprise application components using modern Java frameworks.
- Support database-driven applications through SQL development, data modeling, and ORM technologies.
