Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
- 7+ years of experience developing embedded software.
- Strong C++ development experience, particularly with object-oriented design, back-end software, system-level development, and input/output processing.
- Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and validating embedded software in laboratory, integration, or operational environments.
- Experience working with hardware/software interfaces, serial communication, digital I/O, or related embedded system integrations.
- Ability to develop and execute software testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and validation procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance embedded software solutions using C++ for mission-critical navigation and timing systems.
- Support back-end software development, input/output processing, system integration, and communication between embedded components.
- Develop, debug, test, and troubleshoot embedded software in laboratory, integration, and system-level environments.
- Analyze and validate internal interfaces to ensure reliable communication, data flow, and overall system performance.
- Create and execute unit tests, integration tests, ad hoc tests, and formal validation procedures to verify software functionality and quality.
- Support integration of serial and digital I/O interfaces, hardware communication layers, drivers, and embedded system components.
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and test engineering teams to resolve technical issues and achieve program milestones.
- Document software designs, test results, defects, and technical findings according to engineering standards.
