Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Minimum of 2 years managing engineering managers in a manager-of-managers leadership role.
- Proven experience leading platform engineering, infrastructure, developer productivity, or data platform organizations at scale.
- Strong technical background with the ability to make architecture-level decisions and evaluate build-versus-buy trade-offs.
- Experience developing engineering leaders while building high-performing, collaborative teams.
- Deep understanding of modern cloud infrastructure, software architecture, platform reliability, and operational excellence.
- Experience implementing engineering best practices, developer platforms, CI/CD processes, and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to balance long-term platform investments with immediate business priorities.
- Experience leading distributed or remote engineering organizations is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple Platform Engineering teams responsible for infrastructure, developer experience, data platforms, and AI tooling.
- Define and execute the platform engineering roadmap, aligning technical priorities with business objectives and the needs of internal engineering teams.
- Manage and mentor engineering managers, providing coaching, performance feedback, career development, and leadership support.
- Drive architectural decisions and evaluate build-versus-buy strategies to ensure scalable, reliable, and cost-effective platform solutions.
- Establish and promote engineering best practices, operational excellence, AI-native development workflows, and high-quality software delivery standards.
- Partner with product engineering, security, operations, and other cross-functional leaders to deliver platform capabilities that improve engineering velocity and system reliability.
- Own platform reliability through service-level objectives, incident response processes, technical debt management, and continuous platform improvement.
- Foster adoption of internal developer platforms, reusable infrastructure, and standardized engineering workflows across the organization.
