Requirements
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience focused on cloud architecture in AWS.
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing or deploying AWS Greengrass or comparable IoT edge runtimes.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with AWS IoT Core, MQTT pipelines, and device-to-cloud ingestion patterns.
- Minimum 1 year of experience architecting solutions in AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP-authorized environments.
- Strong knowledge of STIGs, identity boundary constraints, RBAC models, and secure architecture controls.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience engineering solutions for industrial IoT or high-security operational environments.
- Familiarity with OTA firmware distribution and signing/validation workflows.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design AWS Greengrass-based replacement for existing EdgeIQ gateway solutions.
- Lead cloud architecture for modernization across AWS GovCloud, supporting IoT ingestion, backend APIs, and firmware workflows.
- Define gateway software migration approaches from legacy implementations to Greengrass-compatible components.
- Provide architecture oversight for Bluetooth Scanner, Device Manager, and MQTT ingestion module integration.
- Develop secure cloud-to-edge communication patterns, including OTA firmware update pathways.
- Establish architecture baselines, backlog inputs, and environment readiness.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps to enforce automated security controls and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Ensure designs comply with cybersecurity requirements, STIGs, and Blue Water ATO constraints.
