Requirements
- University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Native level fluency in Chinese.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) in a variety of registers.
- 4+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
- 2+ years of review experience.
- Thorough understanding of the localization process.
- Proficiency with standard software like Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with standard CAT tools (e.g., XTM, SDL Studio).
- Experience with issue tracking and query management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Ability to learn new localization tools quickly.
- Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters.
- Ability to work effectively within a virtual team.
Responsibilities
- Perform copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts.
- Perform on-demand translation tasks.
- Provide lead support on assigned projects or accounts.
- Manage and maintain language materials such as glossaries and Style Guides.
- Manage project-related queries.
- Ensure effective interaction among team members and resolve terminology queries.
- Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors.
- Develop and train internal and external linguists.
- Interact with clients on linguistic matters.
- Participate in the development of new and improved working processes.
