Requirements

  • Active California Nurse Practitioner license.
  • PMHNP certification in good standing.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with higher levels of care such as psychiatric hospital care, IOP, SUD facilities, or partial hospitalization programs.
  • Strong clinical judgment and understanding of psychiatric medications.
  • Proficiency with EMRs and telehealth platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team.
  • Strong time management and clinical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telehealth evaluations, assessments, and medication management sessions.
  • Complete thorough assessments for individuals recently discharged from emergency room settings.
  • Collaborate with therapists and supervising psychiatrist to provide integrated care.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation in the EMR.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families.
  • Stay current with psychiatric care practices, telehealth trends, and CME requirements.
