Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s strongly preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in systems or network architecture.
  • Deep expertise in tactical Army communications systems.
  • Expertise in SATCOM, specifically TDMA/FDMA, terminals, and modems.
  • Strong knowledge of RF communications and transmission systems.
  • Solid understanding of IP networking and transport architectures.
  • Experience developing architectures across system-of-systems environments.
  • Working knowledge of DoDAF and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Experience interfacing with Government leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end tactical network architectures integrating RF, SATCOM, and IP transport.
  • Define architecture frameworks aligned to DoDAF and Army network modernization strategies.
  • Lead design of multi-domain, multi-transport communications systems including LOS, BLOS, SATCOM, and 5G.
  • Ensure interoperability across Army tactical systems, joint and coalition networks, and commercial/cloud services.
  • Guide technology insertion and modernization, evaluating emerging technologies for integration into program baselines.
  • Lead architectural reviews and technical decision boards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on RF propagation, link budgets, waveform selection, SATCOM system design, and network resiliency.
  • Develop architecture artifacts, roadmaps, and technical strategies, while mentoring engineering staff.
