Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in paleontology, geology, or biology.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant paleontological fieldwork and technical reporting experience.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required by project needs.
- Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding outdoor fieldwork.
- Strong writing, research, and data management skills.
- Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. in Paleontology or related field.
- Preferred: 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Understanding of regional geology of the Western U.S. and relevant environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide taxonomic identification of vertebrate and/or invertebrate fossils to genus- or species-level for various projects.
- Conduct paleontological fieldwork and field monitoring operations.
- Travel to job sites and conduct fieldwork in uneven terrain in extreme weather conditions for extended periods.
- Draft technical reports and manage data.
- Work independently or cooperatively with crew members, supervisors, and clients.
