Requirements

  • Proven experience as an engineering manager or technical leader transitioning into people management within software engineering organizations.
  • Strong background in software engineering with experience in distributed systems, microservices, and scalable cloud architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with engineering performance metrics such as DORA metrics and operational observability tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, delegate, and develop engineering talent in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to prioritize, manage expectations, and drive business impact through technology.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as Jira, Confluence, Notion, or Datadog is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, ensuring career growth, engagement, and a healthy, inclusive, high-performance environment.
  • Act as a facilitator for the team by removing blockers, improving collaboration, and enabling smooth execution of delivery plans.
  • Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, manage backlogs, and ensure alignment between technical execution and business priorities.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and well-structured distributed systems.
  • Balance delivery priorities with technical debt management, ensuring long-term system sustainability and engineering excellence.
  • Oversee operational excellence, including system monitoring, incident management, reliability, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Lead planning activities such as capacity planning, recruiting support, team allocation, and budget awareness for engineering initiatives.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, translating technical complexity into clear business understanding and expectations alignment.
