Requirements
- Demonstrable experience building and operating highly available infrastructure at a scale of hundreds of servers and dozens of services under real production load.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in self-hosted or bare-metal environments.
- Confident with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines end-to-end (e.g., GitLab CI).
- Proven experience participating in on-call production rotations.
- Strong scripting and development skills.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to keep team informed.
- Prior experience leading a major infrastructure migration is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python and/or Go is a plus.
- Experience with proxy and networking-heavy infrastructure is a plus.
- Exposure to edge clusters or split compute/edge architectures is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Webshare's production infrastructure, leading migrations from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes or hybrid K8s/Ansible architectures.
- Maintain high availability across hundreds of servers and approximately 50 services.
- Drive observability in collaboration with the development team.
- Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, CI/CD pipeline reliability, and change management processes.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident resolution, post-mortems, and systematic remediation.
- Contribute platform tooling to improve developer experience and reduce infrastructure toil.
- Foster shared infrastructure ownership with backend engineers.
