- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in public interest advocacy and government transparency.
Responsibilities
- Monitor news and track sources to identify emerging issues for investigations.
- Craft strategic, litigation-ready public records requests to federal, state, and local agencies.
- Conduct rigorous review and analysis of document productions to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and unreported trends.
- Synthesize investigative findings into newsworthy narratives, blog posts, reports, and briefing materials.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding public records requests and work with the legal team to ensure timely pursuit of materials.
- Support external engagement by contributing to meetings and briefings with journalists and allies.
- Manage document processing and organization to ensure findings remain accessible.
