Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience may also be considered.
- 2–5+ years of experience in policy operations, government affairs, legislative affairs, project coordination, administration, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a proven track record of maintaining accuracy in complex data environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and synthesize large volumes of information into actionable and user-friendly formats.
- Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience improving internal processes, workflows, or operational systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with legislative processes, government affairs, or public policy environments is a strong advantage.
- Experience with tools such as Smartsheet or similar project management and tracking platforms is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support state and local legislative policy operations through the intake, tracking, and management of legislative bills and policy-related initiatives.
- Maintain and update internal and external legislative tracking systems, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data.
- Perform complex data entry, document management, and email coordination related to legislative monitoring and policy reviews.
- Assist in managing legislative review timelines and ensuring key deadlines are met across multiple stakeholders and projects.
- Coordinate with policy teams, subject matter experts, and field teams to support efficient workflows and information sharing.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce duplication, and enhance operational efficiency within policy management systems.
- Support special projects, short-turnaround assignments, and ad hoc policy-related initiatives as needed.
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information and communications.
- Contribute to the ongoing optimization of internal systems, tools, and processes that support policy operations.
