Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven knowledge of construction costs, procurement, and contract law.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office Suite, quantity surveying software).
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse costing for tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control during the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks and advise on procurement strategy.
  • Allocate work to subcontractors, value completed work and manage payments.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims, analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
