Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or platform architecture roles.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in AWS networking, compute, storage, security, and hybrid cloud architecture.
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar automation tools.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles including scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing and supporting highly available, enterprise-grade cloud environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in complex distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working in federal government or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, EKS, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and large-scale data platforms such as Databricks is a plus.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate, Solutions Architect Professional, or Advanced Networking are preferred.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee AWS cloud infrastructure architecture supporting enterprise-scale data platform modernization and operations.
- Define and implement network architecture using VPCs, subnets, routing strategies, security groups, PrivateLink, and related AWS networking components.
- Architect and support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions for mission-critical systems.
- Develop and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform to ensure scalable and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, data engineers, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performing cloud solutions.
- Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including performance optimization, capacity planning, and lifecycle management strategies.
- Establish and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, and operational best practices.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design governance, deployment planning, and operational readiness assessments.
- Support observability, monitoring, and infrastructure health strategies across cloud environments.
