Requirements
- Strong production experience in Python.
- Leadership track record setting technical direction.
- Experience with Go or Ruby (plus).
- Daily use of AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot.
- Genuine curiosity and experimental approach to AI.
- Proven ability to develop junior engineers.
- Clear communication of technical decisions.
- Ability to navigate cross-functional squads.
Responsibilities
- Spend ~70% of time coding, owning backend and AI logic.
- Set technical direction, architecture, and LLM guardrails.
- Ensure components scale in a regulated banking environment.
- Coach junior engineers and conduct progress reviews.
- Act as technical interface between AI Lab and broader organization.
- Lead a 13-person cross-functional team.
- Manage 5 engineers across backend, web, and mobile.
