Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in engineering management or technical leadership roles
- Strong expertise in authentication and authorization systems, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
- Hands-on experience with ReBAC or policy-based access control systems such as OpenFGA, Zanzibar, or SpiceDB
- Experience working with identity providers such as Auth0, Okta, Azure AD, or Keycloak
- Strong backend engineering skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby
- Experience with modern frameworks and distributed systems
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams in a high-scale, production environment
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and leadership skills with a strong focus on inclusive team culture
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering productivity tools
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of authentication and authorization systems that serve as the foundation for all platform services
- Define and implement identity and access control strategies for both human users and AI-driven agentic workflows
- Own and evolve Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC) models, ensuring scalability, correctness, and performance across systems
- Drive technical delivery of complex, cross-team initiatives spanning backend services, identity infrastructure, and platform APIs
- Establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, and architectural guidelines across the Auth team
- Mentor and develop a team of engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development planning
- Partner with product, security, and infrastructure stakeholders to align technical execution with business and platform needs
- Own roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery while ensuring high-quality execution from design to production
