Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
- Strong exposure to distributed systems at scale.
- Experience building internal platforms or shared services consumed by multiple engineering teams.
- Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages such as Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or C++.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems principles including consistency, fault tolerance, scalability, and latency optimization.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming systems such as Kafka, Pulsar, or similar technologies.
- Solid knowledge of databases across relational, NoSQL, and search-based systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve high-throughput backend platform services and shared infrastructure.
- Architect and implement distributed systems components including event-driven pipelines, caching layers, request routing, and asynchronous processing systems.
- Develop platform abstractions, SDKs, and reusable libraries that standardize engineering practices.
- Define and enforce platform-wide standards around APIs, system design, observability, SLOs, and operational best practices.
- Lead performance optimization efforts, including profiling systems, improving throughput, reducing latency, and managing capacity planning.
- Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with SRE, infrastructure, security, and product teams.
